The Plebe Summer Schedule

It is kept a secret from the Plebes, who do not know from one hour to the next what they are going to be doing. They do not even know the time. In Bancroft Hall the clocks are all set at different times just so the Plebes do not know the time.

Time WarpedTime Warped

The "time" is what the Detailers say is the time "to do this"--or the time "do that". When I am asked  by a Plebe what time is it, I ask them to ask their Detailer if it is okay that I tell them the time-- or I will them them they "do not rate" the time. "Do not rate" the time is the expression used all the time during the summer for what Plebes do not need to know.

Schedule Monday thru Friday

An "evolution: is the military term used for an event. It is good to start learning all these terms, from acronyms to slang.

The Detailers "escort" the Plebes from one evolution to another. They usually leave one evolution at 9:45, 10:45, etc. as it takes 15 minutes to get to the next evolution. The Plebes are late a bit. They can't seem to move very fast.

0600 HRS: PEP (Plebes are usually woken up about 5:15 to tin cans in the hallway. They need to be on Rip Miller Field, the PEP Field at 0600 HRS.

Below find a sample schedule. If you understand Plebe Summer acronyms, this all makes sense to you. "P1" stands for Platoon 1. The times are in the first column. Times are military times. 0600 is 6:00 AM. IN the first column "P1" and the first row, in red and enlarged, is PEP. This is PEP, or the Physical Education Program. Every day we schedule what photographer goes to what event. Certain evolutions we are not allowed to photograph. Other evolutions are quite honestly not worth photography, like DEN, or Dentist.

We do have a schedule. Couldn't do this without the schedule. We have to coordinate to be sure we have photographed each platoon approximately the same number of times.

Some platoons are photographed more times during the first part of the summer. Later in the summer we will photograph these platoons more than the other so in the end the number of times each platoon is photographed is roughly the same. This is a result of the schedule, which we have no control over.
