Q&A FACIAL RECOGNITION

How to Set It Up

We utilize Facebook's Photo Tagging for Facial Recognition. This is the first year we used it and have tested it with a few parents from last summer. It is not perfect and you will need to do your regular search. What it will do is find some photographs of your Plebe, the ones that are mostly a frontal view and with few Plebes in the photograph. We are also not experts on Facebook.

To set it up you need to do the following:

STEP 1: CREATE A FACEBOOK PAGE

You can use your current Facebook page or set up a second Facebook page just for Plebe Summer. If you use your current Facebook page, the tagging will look through all of your friends' photographs, as well as ours. If you set up a second Facebook page just for the summer, it will search only our posted photographs. We post only the photographs on Facebook where the tagging will be most effective. We use this Facebook page only for Plebe Summer 2017.

NOTE: We are not experts on Facebook. Please refer to Facebook directions for tagging if you need more information. https://www.facebook.com/help/122175507864081?helpref=faq_content

STEP 2
Under the "Account" dropdown menu choose "Privacy Settings."
In the bottom left-hand corner, choose "Customize Settings.
In the second section, "Things other share" you'll find a setting called, "Suggest photos of me to friends." Choose "Edit Settings" and then be sure able is selected from the drop down menu.
STEP 3
Go through your Facebook page you are going to use, and tag in the photographs your son/daughter. The more you tag the better. We would suggest 25-50. Facebook will use this tagging to look for your Plebe in the galleries we post on our Facebook page.
STEP 4

Request that we add you to our list of friends. We "friend" only those parents who have purchased ALL YOU CAN FIND ACCESS.
