. . . And answers
Q: How do I find out more about the evolutions? A: There will be a brief title on the Daily Schedule with a link to more detailed information about the evolution.
Q: How can I find out what an evolution means that is not explained? A: Sorry, if the evolution is not included in the description, we do not know what it is.
Q: Can I find out more about the evolutions, more than what I find in the explanations? A: The best way is to purchase the DVDs.
Q: What does it mean in the schedule if a time period is blank? A: That means nothing is scheduled for that time period. Actually, it is a time given to the platoon and squad leaders to work with the plebes. It is called a "Gray" period.
Q: When it says that a specific Company is at an evolution (event) does that mean my son/daughter's platoon is there? A: Yes, unless he/she is in SQ (Sick Quarters).
Q: Are some evolutions open to the public? A: Very few. They include: Formal Dress Parade, Smokers.
Q: Where are the evolutions held? A: In the Yard and at the Naval Station. Some are held outside of this area, including Baltimore Harbor and Bowie, MD for the Bowie Baysox game.
Q: Which evolutions will be on the DVDs? A: It depends in the company. The typical ones are Climbing Wall 1 and 2, Boxing, Wrestling, Karate, Close Order Drill, Noon Meal Formation, Squad Endurance Run, Obstacle Course, Weapons Training, Damage Control, Squad Combat Course, Log PT -- and much more.
Q: Why are some evolutions 1 hour while others are 2 -- even 3 hours? A: Some take much less time than others. For example, the Confidence Course (an osbstacle course atop telephone poles) takes about 3 hours.
Q: If my son/daughter is injured, will he/she be at the evolution? A: Typcially not, as they stand on the side.
Q: How do the Plebes get over to the evolutions at the Naval Station? A: They are taken over by Utility Boats. They leave and return next to the Robert Crown Center.
