. . . And Answers |
Q: What is a collage? |
A: It is a group of 6 or 7 images that you select from Plebe Summer photographs. We crop and edit each photograph and then, like a jigsaw puzzle, place each one on a 13 x 19 piece of archival photographic paper. You can frame the collage and decorate your home with it. You will have the option to purchase a frame from us at checkout. |
 |
| Q: Will you take during the summer at least seven images of my son/daughter? |
A: We can not guarantee it of course, but we usually do -- and many more. For example, last summer we took 30,000 photographs. That is an average of about 30 photographs per plebe. |
| Q: What is the price of the collage? |
A: $74.95 + postage |
| Q: When should I order the collage? |
A: When all the images have been posted, by Parents Weekend. |
| Q: Can I use my registration credit toward the price of the collage? |
A: Yes, you can. |
| Q: Can I see a sample? |

TOPIC: Creating the Collage. |
| Questions |
. . . And Answers |
| |
|
Q: How many photographs can I place on the collage? |
A: Seven. We can create a collage with six images if you can't find a seventh. |
| Q: Can I indicate how the photographs will be organized on the collage? |
A: Sorry, this is not possible. We need to fit the images together like a jigsaw puzzle. We do not know before we create the collage where each image will go. If you were to put them in your order, you would have a lot of dead white space in the collage --- and the photographs would be a lot smaller. |
| Q: Will the photographs be edited for color and lightness/darkness? |
A: Yes. Click here for sample. |
| Q: Will the photographs be cropped? |
A: Yes. Click here to see example of cropping and how it works. |
| Q: How will the photographs be cropped? |
A: We will crop (cut off the top, bottom, and edges) to exclude portions of the photograph to enhance the image. The cropping will not include any mids, including your son/daughter. Click here. |
| Q: Will the collage have a border? |
A: Yes, a small white border. |
| Q: Do you have a sample I can download and test for quality? |
A: YES, click here. This image will be large and slow to download. |

TOPIC: Collage Wording |
| Questions |
. . . And Answers |
| Q: Can I change the wording on the top and the bottom of the collage? |
On the bottom only. The standard wording on the top is: PLEBE SUMMER 2010. The standard wording on the bottom is: MIDN (First Name) ( Last Name), USN. You will need to include your son/daughter's first and last name exactly as you would like it to appear on the collage. This is done during the ordering process. See sample.
|
| Q: What do you recommend for wording on the top and bottom? |
A: We recommend the standard wording. |
| Q: Can I order more than one copy of the collage at the time I order and save money? |
A: Yes, you can. |
| Q: How will the collage(s) be mailed to me? |
A: In a photo tube. It (they) will be curled from the mailing. To flatten, place on a flat surface and place a book on them for several hours -- or fold the opposite way for a few hours. then unfold. |
| Q: What kind of paper is used? |
A: Epson archival paper, the same paper we use for our quality prints. |

TOPIC: Receipt of Collage |
| Questions |
. And Answers |
| Q: When will I receive the collage? |
A: About three weeks after you order it, depending on the number of orders we have and our backlog (if any) at the time of your order. In September delivery usually takes 4-5 weeks. |
| Q: How will it be mailed? |
A: First Class mail. |
|
TOPIC: Ordering at a later time. |
Questions |
And Answers |
| Q: After I receive the collage, can I order another one? |
A: Yes, you can. However, you will need to redorder. The first print will be $74.95. |
| Q: Will I be able to purchase the collage at a later date? |
A: Not after XMAS. At that time we close up shop for several months. |
|
TOPIC: Framing |
| Questions |
. And Answers |
| Q: Can I frame the collage? |
A: Yes, you can. |
| Q: How would I frame the collage? |
A: We recommend not placing glass directly on the print. Eventually the photo will stick to the glass, especially with any kind of humidity. Do not place the collage in or near direct sunlight. Instead, have the frame shop make a matboard with a 13x19 cutout. The frame size will then be about 16x20. Place the glass over the mat so it never touches the collage. |
