Questions |
. . . And answers |
| Q: What is an "Archival Print"? |
A: It is a finished print -- cropped and then edited for color and density. According to Epson, the print will last over 100 years. We have three levels of editing.
LEVEL 1) BASIC EDITING: This is the editing we do before we post images to our website. The purpose is for you to have a clear identifiable image so you can find your son/daughter. If you order a PHOTO FILE, this is the editing you will receive. You will need to be skilled at photo editing with PHOTOSHOP or a similar editing program.
LEVEL 2) PLEBE SUMMER EDITING: This is an edited archival print. We crop, correct for color and density -- and then print on EPSON archival paper. This is the editing we do on any print you order, whether it be single prints -- or scrapbook prints.
LEVEL 3) PORTRAIT EDITING: This is custom high quality editing that we do on the "First Class" PLEBE PORTRAITS. This includes: cropping, color correction, density correction, retouching -- and even removal of unwanted objects from background. It is the best -- and we spend a great deal of time on each print. |

. . . And answers |
| Q: What paper do you use? |
A: EPSON luster paper. |
| Q: Do you retouch the images? |
A: Yes, we do - but limited. We do retouch fully all "First Class" PLEBE PORTRAITS. |
| Q: What file size do you use? |
A: We use a RAW FILE format to maximum quality. The size of our RAW FILES is about 2.8 Million Pixels at 240 PPI (Pixels Per Inch.) RAW FILES enable us to edit much easier and effectively. |
| Q: Will your prints be better than the ones I have made at Ritz camera, Walmart -- or that I make myself? |
A: YES. Unless you make the prints yourself and have the expertise with PHOTOSHOP, as well as the Raw File format. If your purchase photos files, they are jpg (lossy) files. "Lossy" files are files in which some of the data has been eliminated. RAW FILES are"Lossless." |

. . . And answers |
| Q: What sizes are available? |
A: Wallets (2.5 x 3.5), 3.5 x 5, 5 x 7, 8 x 10, 11 x 14, 13 x 19. |
| Q: Will anything be cropped off the image if I order an 8x10? |
A: YES. The proportion for a 5x7 is not the same as it is for an 8x10. To make a print from a 35mm negative (which is basically a 5x7 proportion) about 5% needs to be cut from the side. CLICK HERE for example. |
| Q: If I want a photograph cropped to a size other than the standard sizes (3 1/2 x 5, 5 x 7, 8 x 10, etc.) can you do that? |
A: Yes, we can. Please contact Eleanor. |
| Q: Will the print come with a white border? |
A: No. |

| Q: Does it cost less for me to have you make a print than my buying the photo file? |
A: It depends. If you want only one copy of a file, then it is better to have us make the print for you. If you wish to have more than 1 or 2 copies of the print, it would be better to buy the Photo File. Please keep in mind the quality will not be maximized as we use Raw Files -- not jpg (lossy) files. |
| Q: Will my credit be applied to this order? |
A: Your credit will be applied to your first order if it is more than the Registration Fee of $38.95. You can find how much credit you have on Member Home Page. Click on "Welcome Back"
